About this work
A hand-coloured furniture design plate from Le Magasin de Meubles shows a carved wooden settee in the Henri II style, with turned legs, spindle back, and scroll arms. The upholstery of the seat and back is patterned with gold and green floral motifs. The plate is inscribed Siège Henri II de Guise, published and drawn by Victor Léon Michel Quétin, dated 1832 to 1904.
