About this work
A hand-coloured print from the Le Magasin de Meubles series, plate 479 of the Tentures section, shows an elaborate window treatment with a gilded and crimson valance, green and gold striped drapes, blue swags and red tassels. Through the central window a lakeside castle and distant mountains are visible, with a small gilt armchair placed in front. The sheet was published in Paris by Victor Léon Michel Quétin, with a date range of 1832 to 1904.
