About this work

A hand-colored lithographic plate from the furniture catalogue Le Magasin de Meubles shows two decorative door hangings, numbered 2582 and 2583, displayed over white paneled doors. The left example is a green and maroon drape with tassel trim beneath a band-style valance, and the right is a rust-red swagged portière with green tassel fringe. The sheet is attributed to Victor Léon Michel Quétin, dated 1832 to 1904.
