About this work
A hand-coloured plate from the Magasin de Meubles series shows a large window framed by rich red silk curtains with fringed tassels and a patterned pelmet above. The ornamental wooden surround includes gilded panels, scrollwork and a balustrade at the top, and the diamond-paned glass is visible below. This print by Victor Léon Michel Quétin is dated 1832 to 1904.
