About this work
A hand-coloured plate from the trade publication Le Magasin de Meubles shows two drapery schemes: a Louis XIV window treatment with blue silk curtains, lace sheers and gold tassels, and a draped chimneypiece beneath a gilt-framed mirror topped by a cherub clock. The designs are attributed to Victor Léon Michel Quétin, dated 1832 - 1904.
