About this work
A hand-coloured print from Le Magasin de Meubles shows an arched window treatment with swagged brown and blue silk draperies trimmed in gold fringe and tasselled tiebacks. Through the glazed double doors behind the curtains appears a riverside landscape with trees, a rowboat and a distant house. The design is published and drawn by Victor Léon Michel Quétin, Paris, within a dated range of 1832 to 1904.
