About this work
A hand-colored furniture catalogue plate from Le Magasin de Meubles shows two Louis XVI style upholstered seats, numbered 3808 and 3807. The left example has a carved wooden frame with fluted legs and gold floral upholstery, while the right has a gilded frame, a tied ribbon ornament, and striped floral fabric. The sheet is credited to Victor Léon Michel Quétin, dated 1832 to 1904.
