About this work
A hand-colored plate titled Cheminée Henri II shows a carved wooden fireplace surround topped by a tall framed mirror with a shell crest and turned finials. The hearth is lined with green and white patterned tiles and fitted with ornate andirons and a decorative iron fender bearing a shield. The print is from Le Magasin de Meubles, attributed to Victor Léon Michel Quétin, dated 1832 to 1904.
