About this work
A hand-colored plate shows a tall carved wooden Gothic fireplace with an overmantel mirror topped by a moulded cornice and floral relief panels. The hearth holds a pair of ornate wrought iron andirons in front of a gilt-framed mirror, and the lower section features pilasters and scrolled ornament. The print is titled Cheminée Gothique XVme Siècle and is attributed to Victor Léon Michel Quétin, dated 1832 to 1904.
