About this work
A hand-colored plate from the trade publication Le Magasin de Meubles shows two Louis XVI style seats, a side chair and an armchair, each with an oval medallion back. The upholstery is decorated with painted bouquets of flowers and gilded scrollwork, and the chairs are set on tapered fluted legs.
