About this work
A hand-colored plate shows a green upholstered sofa with a carved, rope-twisted wooden frame, gold-trimmed scroll arms, and a patterned runner draped across the seat back. Gold fringe hangs along the base, and the piece is labeled Canapé Catherine de Médicis. The sheet is titled Le Magasin de Meubles and is attributed to Victor Léon Michel Quétin, dated 1832 to 1904.
