About this work
This hand-colored plate from Le Magasin de Meubles shows two wooden writing desks in Henri II style, one a ministerial desk with a green leather top and the other a pigeonhole desk with a red writing surface. Both are rendered in warm brown tones with carved detailing and turned legs. The work is attributed to Victor Léon Michel Quétin and dated 1832 to 1904.
