About this work
This hand-colored plate from the Magasin de Meubles shows two Gothic-style ministerial desks, one with a bank of drawers and one with carved cupboard doors. Both are rendered in warm wood tones with red leather writing surfaces and ornate carved panels. The work is attributed to Victor Léon Michel Quétin, dated 1832 to 1904.
