About this work
This print shows a black lacquered bonheur du jour with gilt bronze mounts, brass marquetry, and a central cartouche of scrolling foliage and a figure on each cabinet door. The desk stands on turned, fluted legs with gilt bands and is framed by an architectural upper cabinet topped with finials.
