About this work
A colored lithographic plate from the series Le Magasin de Meubles shows a carved oak buffet with three mirrored panels set in a tall superstructure topped by a central urn-crowned pediment. The lower body has three drawers with scrolling carved ornament and two cupboard doors with relief figural panels, all rendered in warm brown tones. The plate is credited to Victor Léon Michel Quétin, a publisher and draftsman active in Paris, with a date range of 1832 to 1904.
