About this work
A Japanese woodblock print shows a standing man wearing a large woven straw rain cape and a blue patterned robe, with rain falling diagonally across the grey background. Blossoming plum branches frame the upper corners, and inscriptions run down the left and beside the figure. The work is attributed to Utagawa Kunisada (Toyokuni III) and dated 1835-1836.
