About this work
A woman in a dark green kimono with a lavender undergarment walks along a street at dusk, holding up the hem of her patterned robe. Purple irises bloom behind a bamboo fence on the left, while wooden townhouses, paper lanterns and small figures line the lane. This Japanese woodblock print by Utagawa Kunisada (Toyokuni III) dates from 1858.
