About this work
A Japanese woodblock print shows a kabuki actor in a black kimono with a pink collar and floral crest, glancing sideways beneath a dark umbrella. The upper right holds a calligraphic cartouche framed by pink and white blossoms, and the print is attributed to Utagawa Kunisada (Toyokuni III) and dated 1862.
