About this work
This plate from the Shin-Bijutsukai series by Furuya Kōrin, dated 1901-1902, shows a rectangular cloth rendered in soft blue and rust-orange vertical stripes on a pale ground. A star-shaped motif and faint leaf forms appear in the lower and right areas, set against a pink mat with handwritten calligraphy at the upper right.
