About this work
A woodblock print plate from the Shin-Bijutsukai series by Furuya Kōrin, dated 1901-1902, showing a dense, overlapping arrangement of stylized chrysanthemum blooms. Cream-white and pale blue flower heads with yellow centers and fine radiating outlines fill the picture against a deep blue ground, creating a flat decorative pattern.
