About this work

A richly detailed drawing shows a funerary chariot drawn by horses, topped by a domed canopy with an eagle finial and supported by fluted columns with winged figures at the corners. Mounted and walking soldiers accompany the procession, and a French inscription beneath the image describes the chariot. The work is attributed to Jean Jacques Lequeu and dated 1777-1825.
