About this work

This architectural drawing by Jean Jacques Lequeu, dated 1777-1825, shows an interior of a ground-floor apartment, a trellis cabinet called the Council of the Young Charities, with lattice walls, potted flowers, and a fountain. Beside it is a section of a small grotto in the underground of the Desert, with stalactite-like forms, a basin, and a waterfall.
