About this work
A woodblock print shows a snow-capped volcanic peak rising above a band of billowing clouds, with reeds standing in the shallow water of a lake in the foreground. The pale blue sky and soft pink tones on the water reflect the early light. This is Kawase Hasui's print Yamanakako Hirano no asa from 1936.
