About this work
A woodblock print shows a wide snow-covered valley flanked by steep, snow-streaked rock faces under a pale blue sky fading to pink near the horizon. Small figures of climbers and porters carrying large packs and walking with poles trek across the snowfield, with a line of pack animals visible in the distance. The work is attributed to Kawase Hasui and dated 1932.
