About this work
A woodblock print shows the large bronze seated Buddha of Kamakura under a blue sky, beside a tall pine tree with green foliage. Visitors in kimono stand at a stone-walled base near an incense burner, while a wooden building with a seated figure appears at right. This 1930 print by Kawase Hasui is in the Portland collection.
