About this work

A snow-covered scene at Itsukushima shows a vermilion torii gate standing in shallow water, flanked by snow-capped stone lanterns and a bough heavy with snow. Distant snowy mountains and a small boat lie across the calm sea under a blue sky with falling snowflakes. This woodblock print, Itsukushima no yuki (Snow at Itsukushima), was made by Kawase Hasui in 1932.
