About this work
A snowy winter scene shows a figure with an umbrella climbing a stone staircase toward the wooden Konjikido hall, its roof dusted with snow. Tall pines laden with snow frame the path, and a narrow stream runs along the right edge. This woodblock print by Kawase Hasui, dated 1957, is titled Hiraizumi Konjikido (Konjiki Hall at Hiraizumi).
