About this work
A hand-colored political cartoon titled Waiving the Rules, issued weekly by the Carey Cartoon Service in 1915. It shows Uncle Sam, John Bull and figures labeled Denmark, Holland and Sweden-Norway on a map of Europe, while a German figure with submarines and a crowd labeled Germany, Belgium and France appear on the right, and the ocean liner Lusitania sails at upper left.
