About this work
A hand-colored political cartoon titled Insult to Injury shows Lenin, Trotsky, and a bearded figure labeled Russia seated at a messy table with bottles and a cat, while a German officer and soldiers demand a $3,500,000,000 war indemnity at the door. The print was issued by Carey Cartoon Service in New York and is dated 1918.
