About this work
A hand-colored cartoon in black ink and pastel tones shows a line of caricatured European figures labeled Turkey, Bulgaria, Russia, Crown Prince and Hindenburg walking along railway tracks toward Berlin, carrying a coffin marked Kaiser Bill's Tragedy. Uncle Sam and John Bull watch from the left while speech bubbles mock the troupe, with the title The Busted Show printed beneath. This 1918 print was issued by Carey Cartoon Service of New York.
