About this work
This 1914 political cartoon by Carey Cartoon Service, titled "They're Spilling the Beans in Europe," shows a large bear labeled Russia confronting national figures such as Germany, Austria, Serbia, France, and Italy. Uncle Sam stands at the right with his arms folded, while a row of top-hatted European bbankers with money bags watches from below. The lettering and caricatured national figures give the drawing a printed poster style.
