About this work
A colored political cartoon titled The Wind-up of the Game shows caricatured national figures gathered around a card table, with chips labeled neutral rights and illegal, and a book labeled international law. Uncle Sam sits at the table holding a card while the figures labeled Turkey, Austria, Bulgaria, Russia, Italy and France look on, and a figure carries a burning Canadian Parliament building on a tray. The work was issued by the Carey Cartoon Service in New York in 1916.
