About this work
A 1916 cartoon titled The Real World’s Series by Carey Cartoon Service shows rival figures labeled for European nations facing off with pistols on a field under a red sunrise. Onlookers labeled Death, Hatred and Envy watch from the foreground, while speech bubbles comment on the conflict in the manner of a sports contest.
