About this work
A hand-colored political cartoon shows Uncle Sam standing at a card table where European powers sit in a poker game, labeled France, Italy, Belgium, Austria, Bulgaria and Russia, with a bear marked Liberty seated in the foreground. Speech bubbles and stacked chips frame the wartime allegory. The print was issued by the Carey Cartoon Service in 1917.
