About this work
A hand-colored 1915 political cartoon by Carey Cartoon Service shows a laborer in overalls enthroned in a palace while figures representing Germany, France, Turkey, Austria, Japan, England and Russia gather before him. Factory scenes and an Uncle Sam figure appear in framed vignettes, and the speech bubbles carry satirical commentary on the war.
