About this work
A colored political cartoon shows a classroom of nations labeled Germany, Austria, Turkey, France, Belgium, Italy, Russia, Serbia and Roumania, with a skeletal figure of Death at the door. Weapons such as poison gas canisters, a floating mine and an airship fill the scene, and speech bubbles carry satirical remarks about the war. The print is titled The International School, published by Carey Cartoon Service in 1916.
