About this work
A weekly political cartoon titled The Dizzy Whirl, issued by Carey Cartoon Service in 1916, shows figures representing nations as circus riders leaping through hoops in a striped tent. Speech balloons carry boastful remarks, while a helmeted figure labeled War holds a golden ring and a figure labeled Victory raises a horn beside a cannon. Several riders have fallen to the ground at the left.
