About this work
A hand-colored political cartoon shows the defeated Central Powers seated at a long banquet table, with Turkey, Bulgaria, Austria and Hindenburg labeled and speech balloons mocking their surrender. A figure labeled Defeat stands at the head of the table, and Allied figures including Uncle Sam and Belgium watch from the sides. The print is titled That Dinner in Paris and was issued in 1918 by Carey Cartoon Service.
