About this work
A hand-colored political cartoon titled Nothing Doing! shows caricatured figures of Russia, France, Italy, Belgium, Serbia, Montenegro, Turkey, Bulgaria, Austria and Germany in a street scene. Germany stands in a shop labeled Hohenzollern & Co. Birds, advertising bargains, while the Allied figures in the foreground reject his birds with dialogue balloons. The work was copyrighted in 1916 by the Carey Cartoon Service of New York.
