About this work
A hand-colored political cartoon shows figures representing nations, including Uncle Sam, Russia, England, Germany, France, Austria, Turkey, Belgium and Japan, scuffling in a street outside a laundry labeled One Lung. A Chinese shopkeeper behind the counter shouts from inside the shop as packages scatter from the brawl. The work was issued by the Carey Cartoon Service in New York and is dated 1915.
