About this work
A hand-colored political cartoon shows a crowned German emperor and his sons tumbling down a long staircase in front of Potsdam Castle while protesters with banners and allied figures look on. The caption along the bottom reads "Forsaking His Sorely Tried People," and the copyright line identifies the Carey Cartoon Service, dated 1918.
