About this work
A satirical 1915 cartoon titled Fighting for Peace, issued by the Carey Cartoon Service, shows a crowded peace ship where delegates in top hats and a Scottish highlander argue with reporters while soldiers fight in trenches on the nearby shore. Speech bubbles carry jokes about the ship looking like a warship, and flags of the Allied and neutral nations fly above the scene.
