About this work
A colored political cartoon shows a muscular figure in a Roman-style war helmet, carrying a sack of guns and warships, kneeling in an ornate room as a modern Santa Claus. Labeled European nations, including Germany, France, Russia, Turkey, Austria and Belgium, appear with speech bubbles expressing their attitudes toward war. The print was issued by Carey Cartoon Service in New York and dated 1914.
