About this work
A 1915 political cartoon titled Blessed Be the Peacemaker! by Carey Cartoon Service shows a giant armored figure labeled War straddling barbed wire over trenches where soldiers representing Turkey, Germany, Austria, Bulgaria, France, England and Italy fight. A small figure of Henry Ford, with a peace flag and a tractor, approaches the scene from a ship named Oscar II, with speech bubbles and a vulture remark that add satirical commentary.
