About this work
A decorative lithographic tribute printed in 1864 by John H. Bufford's & Sons, titled A tribute to the memory of the fallen brave. The sheet has a rococo-style arched frame with a blank central cartouche, flanked by two winged female figures holding a wreath and a spear, and cherubs blowing trumpets. Vignettes and labels name battles such as Gettysburg, Fredericksburg, Port Hudson and Vicksburg, with a cavalry charge and cannon fire shown along the base.
