A chromolithographic print shows a large crowd gathered before a neoclassical building with tall Corinthian columns and a clock tower. Two men stand on a central balcony addressing the people below, while spectators fill the upper balconies and the lawn. The print is titled The starting point of the great war between the states, was lithographed by Strobridge & Co. Lith. and is dated 1878.
