About this work
A pair of ink drawings shows two identical tall thermometers set against a brick wall, each labeled from Panic at the bottom to Prosperity at the top. Two top-hatted men in checked trousers work at the bases, one pouring from a vessel marked manipulation and the other heating or blowing at the bulb marked Stock Exchange, while banknotes spill from a chute beneath.
