About this work
This etching shows a loose arrangement of roses, a large white bloom, and several rosebuds and leaves set against a dark, finely hatched background. Light falls on the upper flower and the central rose, while the foliage recedes into shadow. The print is signed in the lower left corner, dated 1922, and is attributed to Lodewijk Schelfhout.
