About this work
Two facing pages of a bound volume show a branch of pale pink blossoms with green serrated leaves and grey-brown twigs, rendered in fine ink outline with soft colour washes. Faint pencil guidelines of additional flower forms appear on the right page. The sketchbook plate is attributed to Ariyoshi Kondo and dated 1826-1840.
