About this work
This page from a sketchbook presents studies of water lilies, showing open white blossoms with yellow stamens, closed buds on green stems, and large round leaves with radiating veins, one rendered in outline and another in green wash. Handwritten annotations and character labels appear beside the drawings. The work is attributed to Ariyoshi Kondo and dated 1826-1840.
